The roller clutch is unlikely to be the noise IMO. You did not say if you get 1st in manual 1? If not, that would pretty much prove it is the rear planet, which is more likely. That is definitely a weak point in 4L60E. Dropping the pan may give you a surprise ... Login to read more.
