I use the OTC transmission adapter bolted to an engine stand:

You can bolt it up to the bellhousing on smaller transmissions or transaxles. On the bigger RWD ones, I try to bolt to the side, using brackets if I need to. On 6R140s, I'll remove... Login to read more.
