Sounds like the internet sprag is seized. It would shift 1-2 as normal but when it goes to 3rd, the sprag should freewheel. If it can't, it will bindup. If it were in backwards you wouldn't have second UNLESS you manually shift 1-2. In that case the coast ban... Login to read more.
