Hello All, I am an auto tech teacher at my local vocational high school. I discovered that I made the serious mistake of buying a FWD Vue that turned out to have a CVT in it as a fixer upper vehicle that was at the same property of a Nissan that I went to look at that was just too far gone with rust. I'm not a tranny builder and my tranny guys are telling me that the real issue is the only way to get the belt and related components that fail in the CVT is to buy an entire assembly from the dealer, which my cost is about $3200. The used units are running about $2200. I heard that the conversion to a conventional trans is a "no go". Are there any viable options to get this thing runnable? Has anyone attempted a manual trans conversion? Any advice to get this thing to go down the road (other than junking it), would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Courtney
