Not sure with the 8.1 engine, I had a 6.0 with the Allison 2000 that would lose communication with the scanner. The data link (J1939) was being shorted out by the ECM. I had to disconnect the ECM to establish communication. Ended up replacing the ECM. The Tra... Login to read more.
