usually move it to reverse and adjust it in reverse with back up light on, but better pro level scanner I think D is 1111 as i think 1998 is digital, usually some old scanners do have problems identifying slipping as PRNDL DTC code, the fault in PRNDL 4r70w sw... Login to read more.
