'56 Pont would have been the last year for the 4 speed cast iron Hydra-Matic with fluid coupling, no torque converter. They didn't have a park pawl, but some thing in the gear train locked up when they were parked in reverse. I can't recall, it's nearly 50 yea... Login to read more.
