No, towing it did not damage that 3rd clutch in that 4R70W. Nor did the emissions test. It has just worn out, probably due to a worn or torn seal on the 2-3 accumulator piston... That was the normal failure I saw when I was a Ford Automatic transmission specia... Login to read more.
