It's called torque reduction.

All late model Fords do this to varying extents. The engine power is reduced on heavy to full throttle accel during and sometimes slightly after shifts.

I notice it most on: Taurus/Sable, Exploder, E & F with 4r70w, some 4R100... Login to read more.
