The Low/Reverse solenoid does double duty, once out of first gear, a valve shuttles over and allows it to operate the converter clutch.

Doing the key "on-off-on-off-on" should show a P0700 (trans problem, DUH!), but you need to go further and get trans codes... Login to read more.
