Scoping lean GDI injectors

[2016 Toyota Corolla CE, Ignition Waveform]

Mike Jones from Mike Jones Auto, made this animated Gif of 3 Honda distributor pick up coils on 3 COPs to compare the COP's secondary spark, burn voltages, at idle, then into a 1500 rpm brake torque, were the injector 2 is disconnected in CH B, then back to idle.

CH B shows the spark, burn voltage climbing up during the brake torque, because there is no fuel in cylinder 2 to act as a conductor for the spark to jump from the spark plug's center electrode to the ground terminal, while the brake torque increases compression.

CH A is a distributor pick up coil on COP 1 and the scope lead is connected across the 2 pick up coil wires.

CH B is another dist PU coil on COP 2 and the cylinder's injector is disconnected.

CH C This engine does not have GDI. injector 1 voltage

CH D another dist PU coil on COP 4

In this GIF, the distributor pick up coils show the 3 COP's primary coil windings being pulled to ground for 2.76ms by the COP's built in module, which is triggered by the ECM's IGT signals.

During the brake torque, the spark plugs are sparking for 920us, except for CH B, where the inj is disconnected, that spark plug is arcing for only 712us.
