Good find. I think Jeeps made the whole "check for shorted sensor" idea famous. Did it say "no bus" in the cluster too? Had a couple early 2000's Cherokee here that seemed fixed at first but needed a PCM a little while later. I wish they were all at the dump. Login to read more.
