The level of the oil was checked and confirmed full but noticeably dirty even though there was a recent oil change done (at a local lube shop).

Upon running the car to check for the noise complaint it was very obvious there was a problem. The upper engine was very noisy, like the buckets or "lifters" were void of oil pressure. 30 psi cold dropped to 14 psi hot.

We removed the valve cover and ran the engine to confirm there was very little oil flow to the top of the engine. An engine oil pressure check confirmed insignificant oil pressure. 70 psi cold and well with in spec at 2000rpm of 36-65 psi. The pressure maintains above 30 psi at idle when hot now.

The engine oil pan was removed and we found the oil pick up screen 80-90% restricted. (pictures attached).

The pan was cleaned as was the screen, all re-assembled and the oil pressure returned to normal. The engine noise was 80% gone on first start up and moved to 100% gone after a bit of time running and a few start cycles.

Synthetic engine oil is a must on these engines.
