So I hate to even suggest this, as I'm sure it violates EPA laws, but I had an old timer hook up refrigerant cans instead of smoke machines for finding vacuum leaks. Then he looked for leaks with an AC sniffer. Seems like it would work the same as the CO2 sys... Login to read more.
