I haven't yet had to remove a cowl. I have had one water pump (bearing) failure, but it was not the original pump. It was replaced about 40k ago. No valve damage. It was a 02 LXS ES. I,ve seen only two oem pumps that leaked. It's not that bad to change the pum... Login to read more.
