Hi Rusty,

Don't forget that when the bulb lights up, you have no longer 3 ohms. Resistance increases when lit. I use a wirewound 100 Ohm reostat or potentiometer, hook it up to the Ohm meter and dial in the value I want and save a trip to Radioshak forever. Login to read more.
