FWIW I've seen this a few times on good old fashioned GM's and Fords and they never came close to blowing the fuse. Seems kinda odd but in most cases if you'd just checked the amp draw with a DMM it would be normal, expect that you couldn't hear fuel going pas... Login to read more.
