Hmmm. I kind of doubt the EGR pressure in the intake runner would exceed the cooling system pressure. Is'nt the leak going the other way? Maybe they saw the low coolant and misfire and just wrote it up for head gaskets based on the 'obviousness' of the conclus... Login to read more.
