The transfer case doesn't 'require' ATF+ at all, it simply ends up being specified because that is what Chrysler uses. Kind of like putting DOT4 in a hydraulic clutch. Is it necessary? Of course not--it just makes more sense to use the same stuff that the tech... Login to read more.
