I have learned (the hard way) to 'spin the shaft' on GM distributors I'm working on. A shaft with a GOOD magnet will fairly 'bump' along as it spins from the field engagement. If it spins too free, expect a poor signal and problems. Even if it's magnetic but a... Login to read more.
