Hate to disagree, but catalysts often fall below 600 degrees (the operating temp of the O2 sensor) when at idle, or even after driving for a long time on the highway at very cold ambient temps...that's why the heater is there, to keep the O2 'alive' during tho... Login to read more. ![]()
