Coolant needs at least 30% water to speed up heat transfer. Too strong a mixture yields a wintertime complaint of "poor heat at idle" here in Winnipeg. The coolant simply doesn't shed enough heat on its way through the heater core. I have picked up 10 degrees ... Login to read more.
