If the vacuum advance mechanism makes the breaker plate rotate around the center of the distributor shaft (it should if it is nice and tight, but if it is sloppy, it won't) and the point gap, and thus dwell angle, should not change. If it is worn or the pivot ... Login to read more. ![]()
