Would a diode in series cause the ECU to command the alternator to overcharge by the amount of voltage drop of the diode? I know silicon diodes drop around 0.6-0.7V, which may or may not be significant. A schottky or germanium diode would drop less, around 0.3... Login to read more. ![]()
