I look at it this way (not sure if this is correct, but it makes sense to me). On a 10 coil spring that deflects 2" with 1000 lbs load, each coil deflects .2". So if you cut one full coil off, that would leave 9 coils, and since each coil deflects .2" with 100... Login to read more.
