Hi Jimmy. Except for Duramax that used CAN between the ECM and FICM beginning in 2001, GM did not begin to use CAN on gasoline vehicles until 2004, starting with the Malibu.

A 2002 would have used only Class 2 serial data at DLC terminal # 2.
