87 octane will pre-ignite under nearly any boost pressure. The cylinder pressures/temps are too high for this fuel. I would use nothing but 93 octane for boosted applications. Intake air charge temp does have alot to do with it (obviously hotter is worse). I h... Login to read more. ![]()
