Re: History of plastic timing chain gears?
I worked for a Pontiac dealer in the 60's and 70's, most of the gear failures ended up with the plastic from the cam gear getting into the oil pump pick up screen and took out the crank bearings. GM thought it would be cheaper to go back to metal than to repla... Login to read more. ![]()
