The way I understand it is crankcase blowby gasses are not necessarily the same makeup as exhaust gasses.

More raw fuel is in the mixture which is why the PCV gasses are introduced as part of the air-fuel mixture. This is fuel that would otherwise be wasted.... Login to read more.
