Intermittent can be tough. Try checking it from a cold start and decelerating. Sometimes gaskets/seals will leak only on a cold engine. Sometimes the purge valve or pcv valve can stick intermittently. Maybe they check their oil weekly and sometimes the dipstic... Login to read more.
