I have one tech in my shop and one in a sister shop both telling me that a missing converter heat shield can affect converter performance. The tech in the sister shop says this is more the case with 3-way converters. I called Walker Tech Support and was told that converter heat shields sole purpose is to protect surrounding objects from heat. All ideas and creative curses much appreciated. :-)
