I agree with your tool idea- cap adapter, vac pump, & manometer. While most bad caps will fail a press test, a few will only fail under vac. Since most cars test EVAP leaks with vac, this would seem the best way to "nail" (& document) a diagnosis. Just tossing... Login to read more.
