Very common failure on these TBI engines. Did you notice the black smoke rolling out of the exhaust before it stalled? And yes, the PCM does read the -39° F, and adds lots of fuel accordingly. Unplugging the CTS puts the PCM in a failure mode of more like... Login to read more.
