Years ago a very wise tech showed me a trick for that exact problem. With your gauge attached and a hot engine hold the rpm to 3500 or so and get a steady reading. Then drop the rpm. If the needle on the gauge drops and rebounds at all the bearing are at fault... Login to read more. ![]()
