The cap usually tells ya. Some years ago I had a friend that restored 1962-1964 Cadillacs and went through steering gear boxes. The worn out boxes had red fluid (ASSUMED ATF) where the boxes that didnt have any wear had PS fluid (brown/gold) in them. I imagine... Login to read more.
