Low Coolant Sensor

Does anyone know how the radiator mounted sensor module actually senses that the coolant is low. I know that coolant quality is crucial. Does it sense a voltage or a resistance? I have seen several of these at after flushing and replacing the sensor the light ... Login to read more.
