Most alt are driven 3 to 1. To pick up a correct tach signal only one phase of the 3 are used for the signal (only connect to 1 stator terminal) and you are back to crankshaft rpm. Measure the crank pulley and the alt pulley and see if this is the case with yo... Login to read more.
