I did the same experiment using a briggs and stratton engine when i was about 16 years old. I welded a lobe opposite of each lobe on the camshaft and that was about it. The engine did spin pretty quickly; i'd suppose about 1000rpm, but i'm sure it didn't prod... Login to read more.
