Egts between diesel and petrol

Hi all,

I am wondering why maximum egts on a diesel measured at the turbo inlet are limited to 720c/1500f, but petrol is allowed to get to 850c. After these temps, damage starts to happen. Why the difference. Pistons are made of the same material, turbos are... Login to read more.
