It is still an extra fuel source and uses oxygen for combustion. Once it uses the oxygen it needs the engine won't have enough left for the fuel charge it computed and will see a lack of oxygen at the O2 sensor - a rich condition. Forgive me if I'm wrong, chem... Login to read more.
