It's true, TIG welded aluminum can crack at the joint under stress. For that reason you should gas weld the aluminum. The base metal won't get brittle from the intense heat a TIG welder causes, the tank will stay soft and will crush, rather than crack. Gas wel... Login to read more. ![]()
