You're correct about MMT. The Ethyl Corp introduced it in the late seventies -- '77 or '78, I think -- as a successor to tetraethyl lead. It was supposed to have a lot of the octane-enhancing benefits of lead without the poisonous byproducts. Et... Login to read more.
