Hi Wade. Your statement "If you have a common rail diesel, the pressure is fixed" is incorrect.

E.g. Fuel rail pressure is somewhere between 5000-6000 psi on a 6.6L Duramax at idle and depending on model year the maximum pressure attainable can be 23000-2600... Login to read more.
