Yes, the 90, 120 or 180 degree offset on assembly is only to help avoid problems during "break-in". I was a "unit repair" tech for VW/Porsche/Audi more years ago than I sometimes admit and have disassembleed a lot of engines (sigh - that is not the fun part!).... Login to read more.
