I pulled a few mild (OE equiv)SBC cam cards, and the SBC can have an Exhaust Closing event (to .004" tappet) at nearly 50 degrees ATDC. Sure, the .050" E.C. is often 5 degrees before TDC but you don't need very much lift at all to get air at that slow a speed,... Login to read more.
