Peter, my knowledge has always been this. The pcm looks at the crank or cam sensor for the next cylinder to appear within a certain time frame at whatever rpm. If the CKP/CMP signal is late, and the parameters are consistant,pcm decides there is a misfire on a... Login to read more. ![]()
