3-stage Vtec is tottaly different from Hyper. The Hyper Vtec is much alike the VTEC-E as an idea(only one valve opens and after a critical rpm the other valve opens) but different mechasims are used to get its goal. Hyper Vtec is used only on motorcycles. Login to read more.
