Re: what is a 'dual mass flywheel' and why would I want one?
LT1 Corvettes use a dual mass flywheel. Gm says it was to reduce gear noise at idle so may be a function of the trans as much as the engine. We replace them with the f-body flywheel because of the 30 lb weight difference. Imagine a 50 lb flywheel turning 6500 ... Login to read more. ![]()
