DC resistance imparted by an iron core?

I have just been informed that a DC electromagnet, such as an AC compressor clutch, will have the current limited by the iron core. In other words, if I measure 2 ohms of resistance in the coil, and apply 12 volts DC to it, I will get less than 6 amps, due to ... Login to read more.
