Oops, you're right, my math WAS faulty - or at least a typo. It should say 8A, not 8W. 4V / 0.5 ohms = 8A (V/R = I) I*R = P, so power dissipated in the 0.5 ohm contact resistance would be 8*0.5, or 4W. Login to read more.
